Join the Cotton Ginning Development Pathways Program
Start with the fundamentals. You’ll start by taking on internal training covering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Skilled Ginning Short Course
Next comes a short course in ginning. You’ll receive a statement of attainment on completion.
Certificate III – Engineering (mechanical)
Finally, you’ll begin an apprenticeship delivered through TAFE, combined with on-the-job experience, which results in a formal CERT III qualification on completion. This trade qualification is transferable to other industries.

You don’t need any prior processing experience to apply to become an assistant ginner, and school leavers are encouraged to apply for these roles.
